A hand-bound zine in an envelope with your actual name on it, from an author on Vancouver Island. And my weekly newsletter in between.
CA$70 for a year: four envelopes, plus Saved by the Spell every week.
Order by January 22 and your first envelope is Winter, in the post February 1.
I'm tired of just getting bills and government letters in the mail.
Where's the lovely mail? The physical kind I can sit down and read with a cup of coffee and pretend that I don't have a washer of wet laundry, molding.
So I signed up and paid to get fun, hand-written mail. One comes from Anna Brones, who writes Creative Fuel. An actual envelope, written by a person, for me. It's so satisfying.
I'd forgotten how much I love getting real mail.
Now I'm making them too. Here is my early prototype - so analog and I can do it from bed!
I'm Annabel. I write mythic fiction where the change is the magic, from Vancouver Island.
My debut novel Thread Traveller was named one of Kirkus Reviews' Top Indie Books of 2025 and is a 2026 CANREADS finalist for Women's Fiction.
I also write non-fiction at Saved by the Spell on Substack. Expect swearing and lots of talk about chocolate, cheese and cold dips.
Witching, October 2026. Hand-bound, coloured in orange, and posted to every paid reader, with a mini card by local artist Jeannine Saylor of SaylorMade, so you can send a friend a love note or send an enemy a hex.
Order by January 22 for the Winter envelope.
No auto-renew. When your fourth envelope lands, I'll ask if you want another year.
You can dip in. You can dip out. Get one year, stop, and turn up again later.
Seasons come and go. So does your attention, and so does mine.
Not ready yet? Read Saved by the Spell free first.
Already a paid Saved by the Spell subscriber: the envelope is already coming to you.
With magical wishes from Vancouver Island,
Annabel xxoo
